歩数だけを数えて歩いてた

生きていくために立ち止まった
法によって
自分自身を保ち
その18歩が
ワンセットになっている *
そして次の9の右、9の左 *
その前にも18の拍子が
空の青を見上げて
その上空に向けて囁く
私を溺れさせないで
たった一人で呼吸したくない
蹴らないで、傷を与えないで
骨を折らないでよ
私を沈み込ませないで
いつも落ち着いていさせて
棒で叩かないで、針で刺さないで
石を投げつけないで
長くいすぎるつもりはない
いつだって味わっていたい
この素晴らしき
心の中の灰色の世界
あちこちにいる犬はみんな吠える吠える
それに耳を傾ける価値はある
全てのおいしい果物のように
人生のバランスを知ること
それは成熟と腐敗のバランス

Eighteen-teen strides
and she stops to abide

is one complete set

nine right and nine left
She looks up-up at the blue
And whispers to all of the above:
Don’t let me drown,
don’t breathe alone
No kicks, no pangs,
no broken bones
Never let me sink,
always feel at home
No sticks, no shanks,
and no stones
Never leave it too late,
always enjoy the taste
Of the great-great-great
grey world of hearts
As all dogs everywhere bark-bark
It’s worth knowing
Like all good fruit,
the balance of life
Is in the ripe and ruin
